To give an indication of the transport costs, we hereby send an overview per country, supplier. However, the transports are always offered separately.
Road transport within Europe
Most goods are transported by road within the borders of Europe. That is why this mode of transport is also called regular road transport. This is a transport service where the goods are always delivered door-to-door (EXW conditions). That is why you always have to pay costs for collecting and delivering the goods with these conditions.
However, do you want to import a large number of goods (three pallets or more)? Then you avoid the costs described in points three and six (skipping the goods). In that case, your goods will be collected and delivered with the same “export” truck. As a result, the goods do not need to be loaded and unloaded and you save the costs of transhipment of the goods. This “export” truck transports the goods from the supplier’s warehouse to the warehouse in the Netherlands. From there, the goods are transported to their destination with a smaller truck. The same applies to the collection of the goods.
What is and is not included in the price?
For road transport within Europe, the quotation is usually for the transport from point A to point B. Customs clearance of the goods is usually included in this price. What is usually not included in the price are all things not mentioned above. These are things like a truck with a tail lift for loading and unloading the goods. If you want the goods to be collected from multiple addresses or delivered to multiple addresses. Or, for example, you want the goods to be collected or delivered at a specific time. But even if you want your goods to be delivered as a priority, this will entail additional costs.
In short, if you have additional wishes for transport, this will result in additional costs. If you have special wishes, you must indicate this before ordering the transport service. You must also pay for these items directly when ordering the transport service.
If you import goods from another EU country, you do not have to pay import tax or VAT on these goods. This is due to the customs territory of the Community which allows free movement of goods. You can read more about importing goods from other EU countries here.
In short, the prices of transport are always subject to change and depend on;
– sizes of the boxes / bicycles
– method of assembling the bicycles 85% or 98%
– number of bicycles ordered
– direct delivery from A to B or between station (small deliveries)
– country of origin
– special wishes for unloading (pallet or no pallets)
– economic conditions (diesel surcharge)
– social conditions (corona virus)
– political circumstances (lock down limits)
